Delhi High Court allows JNUs election committee to declare Students Union election results

Delhi : The Delhi High Court on Tuesday allowed the Jawaharlal Nehru University’s Election Committee to declare results of students’ union election (JNUSU), that was held recently.

While removing the stay, Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva also allowed the JNU administration to notify the poll results in accordance with Lyngdoh committee recommendations.

Earlier, the court had put a stay on the declaration of the final results & restrained JNU administration from notifying the results of JNUSU elections based on the petitions filed by JNU students Anshuman Dubey and Amit Kumar Dwivedi.

After Court's order, JNUSU's outgoing President N. Sai Balaji said, "Hon'ble High Court vindicates JNU Students, JNUSU and JNU EC. This is the victory of democracy. JNU wins."

After the counting of the 2019 Students Union Elections the JNU, mandate indicates that the United Left is all set for a sweeping victory.
