Hyderabad: The Directorate of Enforcement, Vigilance & Disaster Management of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has sealed as many as 140 institutions in the Hyderabad city including Gymnasiums, Schools, supermarkets, Bars and Pubs which have violated the lockdown orders issued by the Telangana government.
The Vigilance department said several Gymnasiums, Coaching centers, Fitness Studios etc.,in the Hyderabad city are kept open in the morning hours and closed by 10 o’clock. To inspect such types of establishments the Directorate of EV&DM has deployed teams in the morning hours. These teams have inspected from 6 am and found 28 establishments which are violating the orders issued by the Government and the same have been sealed.
Global concept School, Ravindra Bharathi School, Bharathi Vidhya Nikethan high School, Zenas International Schools, Sri Tirumala Convent High School are the five schhols sealed for lockdown violation in the city. There are also multiple coaching institutions and study halls that have been sealed apart from fitness centers, bars and pubs.
The enforcement teams of EV&DM has also inspected various supermarkets, medical stores, wholesale markets etc and sealed 10 shops/establishments which have violated the orders issued by the government. This includes, Karachi Bakery Banjarahills, Ratnadeep Supermarket- Sri Nagar Colony, D-Mart LB Nagar, Vijetha Supermarket, etc.
The Directorate of EV&DM has issued 230 notices to the Malls, super markets, commercial establishments, etc in the limits of GHMC.
Further it was brought to the notice of the department that there being public congregation in the shopping malls, hyper markets, commercial establishments, etc., there is need to take certain measures to contain the spread of virus.
In this regard, notices are being issued to all the Malls, hyper markets, commercial establishments, etc, directing to screen the visitors using Thermal screening devices and also sanitize the entire area where there will be movement of public as many times as required and also to provide hand gloves, masks, sanitizers, etc to the staff and hand sanitizers to visitors.
The Government has further ordered that all Shops, commercial establishments, offices, factories, workshops, godowns etc. shall close their operations. Further vide G.O.Ms. 45 dated 22-03-2020 the government has excluded the following shops/establishments providing essential goods and services from the Lock Down,
a) Banks/ATMs and related activities.
b) Print and electronic media.
c) IT and ITeS, including telecom, postal and internet Services.
d) Supply chain and transport of essential commodities.
e) E-Commerce (delivery) of essential goods including food, pharmaceutical and medical equipment.
f) Sale of food items, groceries, milk, bread, fruits, vegetables, eggs, meat, fish and their transportation and warehousing activities.
g) Take-away/ home delivery at restaurants.
h) Hospitals, optical stores, diagnostic centres, pharmaceuticals manufacturing and their transportation.
i) Petrol pumps, LPG gas, oil agencies, their godowns and their related transport operations.
j) All security services including those provided by private agencies.
k) Private establishments that support the provisioning of essential services or the efforts for containment of COVID-19.
l) Airports and related services.
The Government of Telangana had issued orders vide G.O.Rt. No. 4 dated 14-03-2020 to close the educational instructions till 31-03-2020 and parks, theatres, museums, gymnasiums, bars and pubs, cultural events, sports events, conferences, workshops etc., till 21-03-2020 and further the same is extended till 07-05-2020.
The Government has issued orders to take all necessary actions under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 to prevent and contain the spread of COVID-19 Virus.
Following are the list of shops/establishments sealed,
