Hyderabad: A criminal case has been booked against the President and Secretary of Jubilee Hills Co-operative Housing Society, for damaging the house of a retired defence scientist, who is also the director of Astra Microwave Products limited.

Complainant Mr P Ramakrishan Reddy and his wife Premeelamma are residents of the Jubilee Hills Co-operative Society, for over 10 years. The plot located adjacent to their residence has been sold to one CH Sirish. Since the last two months, rock blasting activity is being undertaken in the adjacent plot.

At about 4.12 PM Saturday, a huge chunk of boulder (about 20 feet in width and 30 feet in height) fell inside the complainant’s compound wall. It destroyed the living room and the bedroom on the first floor, resulting in hampering the structural stability.

Speaking to NewsMeter the complainant Mr P RamaKrishna Reddy said, “The rock blasting activity was initiated without following the due diligence, causing nuisance by contractor Sreedhar Reddy. Without informing the neighbours, JCB were pressed in, which tried to enter my property. The family is terrified with the high decibel sounds, I have earlier complaints to the Jubilee hills police, however no case was booked then”.

The complainant had earlier moved the High Court. He further added, “The High court, on hearing my petition, directed the Jubilee Hills inspector and GHMC officials to conduct an inspection to ascertain the usage of blasting material in plot number 853-F and submit a report. Earlier I filed a suit for injunction against Jubilee Hills Co-operative house building society. The court has granted status quo which is subsisting as on today.’

Mr P Ramakrishan Reddy has alleged that the President of the society in connivance with the plot owner has started blasting operations by using explosives and huge earth movers without obtaining the required permission from the concerned authorities.

Following his complaint, The Jubilee Hills police officials have booked a case against the President, Secretary Hanumanth Rao, one Ms CH Sirisha and conractor Sreedhar Reddy under section 336, 287, 427 r/w 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
