Hyderabad : The cyber crime wing of the Rachakonda police managed to trace an intermediate student, Dosapati Nivas Goud who was missing since July 25. Using Facebook and Instagram posts uploaded by the boy, the police rescued him from a hotel in Secunderabad where he was working as a supplier. Dosapati Nivas Goud was studying at a private college and residing in the college hostel at Hayathnagar. When he went home for the holidays, he informed his parents that he did not wish to stay in the hostel and wanted to study as a day scholar. His father scolded him after which Nivas went missing and a case was registered.

During investigations, police found Nivas active on Facebook and Instagram. They obtained the login and IP details of his Facebook and Instagram accounts and traced the mobile numbers used to access the accounts. Based on the mobile numbers, the tower locations were traced to Padma Rao nagar in Secunderabad.

Teams were sent and on searching the area they found Nivas working as a supplier at the “70MM hotel’. On being questioned, Nivas told the police that he wanted to study as a day scholar, but his parents were forcing him to stay in the hostel and so he ran away. The police has handed the boy to his family.
