Hyderabad: Coronavirus has infected more than 2, 30,000 people around the world, claiming more than 9800 lives. Many employees working in the private sector have been instructed to work from home since last week. Facebook employees have also been mandated to work from home, after a contractor working in Facebook Headquarters in Seattle, USA, was tested positive for COVID-19. All their offices were closed right after that.

Few users claimed that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced a five-figure bonus for its 45000 employees around the world, is going viral on social media.
Few articles even claim that he announced a 6-month salary as a bonus to all his employees

The Claim that each full-time employee of Facebook will get $ 1000 bonus is TRUE. But the claim that five-figure bonus is being given to the employees is PARTLY TRUE. The company has around 45,000 employees excluding the contractors.
When searched for the news about Facebook announcement about the bonus, we found many articles.
According to the articles, only full-time employees will be given a bonus of $1000 to tackle coronavirus fallout. On March 17, 2020, CEO of the Company Mark Zuckerberg announced this bonus will help Facebook employees during the pandemic. These additional expenses would include setting up home offices or helping out its employees with childcare.
