Hyderabad: A post is going viral on social media claiming that Haiti's first lady Martine Moise succumbed to her injuries. Users claim she had sustained wounds when Haitian President Jovenel Moïse was assassinated.

The claim is False.

NewsMeter performed a Keyword Search and found a report by the New York Times on July 7, 2021.

According to the report, President Jovenel Moïse of Haiti was killed in an attack at his private residence on the outskirts of the capital, Port-au-Prince.

We then found a report by Yahoo News on July 8, 2021. According to the report, First Lady of Haiti Martine Moïse was airlifted out of the country and shifted to Miami after being shot during the attack that killed her husband.

We then found an audio post that was tweeted by Martine Moise on her official Twitter account on July 10, 2021. She had talked about the death of her husband.

It is therefore evident that viral post about the death first lady of Haiti Martine Moise is false.
