Hyderabad: A YouTube video reportedly showing the exterior of the Ram Mandir that is being constructed in Ayodhya is circulating on WhatApp. The post reads, "Exterior sculpture planned at Sri Ram temple, Ayodhya." (archive)
FACT CHECK:
The claim is false.
The viral video shows the exterior of a Jain Temple in Gujarat and not the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
NewsMeter found the same video on YouTube. According to the video description, the Chuli Jain temple is situated at Halvad Dhrangadhra highway in Gujarat and is 12 km from Dhrangadhra city toward Halvad.
Taking a cue from this, we searched online for the Chuli Jain temple and found the same photos linked to the Gujarat temple. A travel website also stated that this is indeed the Jain Temple at Halvad- Dhrangadhra highway in Gujarat. NewsMeter also contacted a few locals in Gujarat who confirmed this is the Chuli Jain Temple.
Further, the Ayodhya Ram Mandir has not been completed yet. The construction work is still in progress. The Twitter handle of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra shared images of the site that clearly shows work in progress.
After discussions with experts regarding foundation of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir, it has been decided that foundation work will be done using Roller Compacted Concrete technique. Total 40-45 layers of concrete will be put in 1,20,000 sq feet area. 4 layers have been completed. pic.twitter.com/qwID39hhjH
