Fact Check: Viral image of UK cops bowing to Muslims is AI-generated

Hyderabad: There has been an ongoing debate around Muslim migration to the UK, often tied to broader societal concerns about immigration, national identity, security and the future of multiculturalism in the country.

Amid this backdrop, an image of police officers bowing to men in Islamic attire has been circulating on social media. The accompanying claim suggests that the cops are ‘surrendering’ to Muslims in the UK.

Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the claim is false as the image is AI-generated.

Upon close inspection of the image, we identified several discrepancies, including missing heads, extra feet and slightly distorted faces.

We further analysed the image using AI detection tools, including Hive Moderation and Hugging Face. Hive Moderation indicated that the image likely contains 99.2 per cent AI-generated content, while Hugging Face confirmed it consists of 81 per cent artificial and 19 per cent human elements.
