Father kills son, son murders mother in twin incidents in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: In two separate incidents, two people were murdered by family members in north Andhra Pradesh on 5 February.

In the first incident, 42-year-old P.Srinu was killed by his father and brother following a fight between the victim and his family at the Mushalipalem area under Makavarapalem police station limits in Vizag district. The police said Srinu was an alcoholic and used to pick up fights with his family. He had been unemployed for the past one year.

On Tuesday night, Srinu got drunk and started a quarrel with his parents. He tried to attack them with a stick. Srinu's brother, Sunil Kumar, tried to pacify him but his efforts proved futile and Srinu chased after his mother. Unable to bear it any loner Srinu’s father, Sunny Babu, and Sunil attacked him with sticks. Srinu suffered head injuries and died on the spot. The police, led by sub-inspector K. Ramu, registered a case and an investigation is underway to nab the accused persons.

In another incident, a 62-year-old-woman was murdered by her son at Ramadasupeta village under Tekkali police station limits in Srikakulam district. The deceased has been identified as K. Anasuyamma while the accused is K. Ramakrishna. The police said for the past few years the mother and son had a dispute over some property. Anasuyamma has transferred most of her land to her three daughters. Ramakrishna held a grudge against his mother over this and stabbed her to death. A case has been registered and an investigation is on, the police said.
