Fire breaks out in Goshamahal Police station stadium

Hyderabad: A massive fire broke out at the Goshamahal police stadium at Hyderabad in the wee hours of Friday. The fire gutted down vehicles in the stadium that are scrapped and seized in connection with cases.

According to sources, the fire broke out in the vehicle parking area of the stadium premises at around 5 am on Friday. Soon it spread to all the vehicles parked in the area. Even before the security personnel could notice the fire and alert the fire, the fire brought down a significant number of vehicles into ashes. Fire tenders immediately rushed to the spot and fought the fire around three hours and brought them under control.

Though there were no casualties in the fire, the vehicles damaged in the fire are big in number, said, officials.

Officials said hundreds of vehicles are stationed in the stadium premises. Out of which many are affected in the fire. “ We are verifying the number of vehicles affected in the fire. Soon the officials will start a stock count and also affect vehicles. There are vehicles from all police stations in the city. Some of them are seized vehicles, while most of them are vehicles which are declared scrapped.,” said officials.

Based on a complaint from the stadium staff, a case has been registered, and an investigation is underway, said, police officials. The police stadium at Goshamahal is the biggest stadiums owned by the police department and used for various purposes.
