Hyderabad: A food delivery executive and his six family members were tested positive for COVID in Hyderabad.
All seven members including the youngster and his father have been admitted to Gandhi Hospital.
Police inquiries revealed that the youngster, a food delivery executive, has two elder brothers. The eldest, a private company employee, lives in the same house along with his wife and a son. The second brother is currently in Dubai, however, his spouse and two children reside in Hyderabad.
While the officials are trying to trace the contact persons of the food delivery boy, inquiries found that his father who returned from Markaz is the virus carrier.
“His father returned from Delhi on March 18. He was tested positive in the first week of April. Following this, the entire family was been sent to quarantine. Later, the medical reports revealed 6 more members of the same family are infected. The patients include the youngster’s parents, second brother’s wife and elder brother’s son,” said an officer preferring anonymity.
Fortunately, two other children in the family have been tested negative in all the tests. However, the family continues to be under quarantine.
Meanwhile, the Medical and Health, and Police departments have intensified the contact tracing process of the food delivery executive.
It is to be noted that Telangana Chief Minister has imposed a ban on food aggregators in the state till May 7. “Any movement of their employees will be dealt with under law,” warned the Chief Minister.
