Former TD minister’s brother quits party

Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam (TD) received a jolt on Wednesday when a senior leader and former minister Ayyannapatrudu’s brother Sanyasipatrudu resigned from the party in Visakhapatnam. According to sources, Sanyasipatrudu is expected to join the YSR Congress.

It is learned that a family rift between the two brothers forced Sanyasipatrudu to quit the party. During the Assembly elections, there were also rumours that he would leave the party. But he stayed on.

Sanyasipatrudu alias Jameel has been the backbone of his brother during his political career spanning more than three and a half decades. His resignation is a setback to Ayyannapatrudu.

Incidentally, Ayannapatrudu is celebrating his birthday today and TD national secretary Nara Lokesh who is touring Narsipatnam will be attending Ayannapatrudu birthday celebrations.

It must be recalled that some TD senior leaders recently joined the YSR Congress in the presence of supreme and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Things don’t seem to be right in the yellow party.
