Four booked in Warangal for defying quarantine orders

Warangal: A case was registered against four members of a family in Mahbubabad district's Danthalapally on 23 March for defying quarantine orders.

The police said that a man from Bhadrachalam had recently returned from Qatar. He had been advised to be quarantined at home. The neighbours informed the police after the man flouted the quarantine rules and went to his wife's house in Danthalapally. A medical team and revenue officials rushed to the spot and conducted tests. While no one tested positive for Corona virus the officials advised them to self-quarantine themselves. However, when the medical team went to Danthalapally again to conduct some tests on Sunday evening, the man had left for Bhadrachalam.

District collector V.P Gautham and the superintendent of police came to know of the incident and directed officials to file criminal cases against the man and his family members. Accordingly, the police booked a case under Section 188 of the IPC (if such disobedience causes danger to human life, health or safety) and Section 3 of the Epidemic Disease Act of 1897.
