Four held for theft of mobile phones

Four persons, including three drivers who were involved in mobile snatching offences, were arrested by LB Nagar police in the city on Friday. Two mobiles and two bikes worth Rs 1.25 lakh were recovered from the accused persons. The accused are Ramavath Suman, Lunavath Raj Kumar, Ramavath Ravi Varma and Lunavath Vishnu.
According to police, the accused are close friends and residents of Hayathnagar on the city outskirts. As their income was not sufficient, they wanted to make easy money and started committing offences.
On Thursday, the victim Chimata Naveen hailing from Nalgonda district, along with his friends Yellati Himagiri and Kunduri Amarnath Reddy came to Vijayawada bus stop at LB Nagar to see off another friend Akhil. After that, while they had tiffin at an eatery, the suspect approached them and asked for a mobile phone to make a call. When Naveen gave them his mobile, the suspect fled from the spot on their bikes. When Naveen called on his mobile, the suspects asked him to come to a wine shop to collect the mobile, but when Naveen along with his friends went there, they snatched mobile phone of Naveen's friend Himagiri and sped with two mobile phones.
Based on the clues and technical evidence, police arrested the suspects and recovered two mobiles from them.
