Fourth death due to CoronaVirus in India , man had traveled to Germany via Italy

India,on March 19th, reported its fourth death due to the novel COVID-19, taking the total number of deaths to four.

The patients who succumbed to CoronaVirus is a 70-year-old man who had traveled to Germany via severely affected Italy a fortnight ago. The patient died in the hospital in Punjab following severe chest pain.

The news of his death has led to the officials barricading 3km of the area around Punjab's Hoshiarpur Hospital. While his family and friends are being quarantined.

Meanwhile, the total number of CoronaVirus cases in India stands at 169 and four deaths reported.

The 3rd death due to COVID-19 was of a 64-year-old patient who died at Mumbai’s Kasturba hospital. The 64 year old is the first case of death due to the virus in Maharashtra. While India’s first reported death due to Coronavirus was on 10 March when a 76-year-old man from Karnataka’s Kalburgi died while being transported from one hospital to another. The man had recently returned from Saudi Arabia.

The next day Delhi reported the second case of death linked to Covid-19. A 68-year-old woman from Janakpuri, who was the mother of a confirmed case of Covid-19 succumbed to the virus at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital.

Notably, the four deaths reported from India are senior citizens.
