Hyderabad: Telangana Medical and Health Department is alert amid spreading concerns over Coronaviruses (CoV) from China. The state government is monitoring the people arriving here from the dragon country. The doctors are collecting samples from people from China and sending them to the virology lab in Pune. The state government is taking measures to prevent the virus from entering into Telangana. Towards this, the Medical and Health Department has selected Gandhi Hospital and Fever Hospital as nodal centres.
The Department has set up exclusive beds and wards for patients suffering from symptoms of Carona virus.
Recently a patient with Coronavirus symptoms admitted into Fever Hospital and this created concerns among the doctors and officials. However, after the thorough diagnosis and tests, the Fever Hospital identified that it was not due to the Coronavirus. A medicine student, resident of Begumpet, came to Hyderabad from China and consulted doctors at Fever Hospital.
“Initially, doctors suspected that the medical student was suffering from Carona virus and treated him in a special ward. Samples from him sent to Pune Virology Lab and continued treatment at the Fever Hospital. The Pune lab confirmed that it was not Carona virus, but flu-related fever,” said a senior doctor.
