Goat eats Haritha Haram sapling, owner punished

Hyderabad: A woman whose goat ate a Haritha Haram sapling was punished by the sarpanch of the village. The incident took place in Barwad village in Vikarabad's district in Telangana.
The sarpanch of Barwad village took stringent action and made a woman plant 20 saplings after her goat ate a Haritha Haram sapling. In a video, the woman who planted the 20 saplings says, “My goat ate one Haritha Haram plant. All the gram panchayat heads asked me to plant 20 saplings. I will take care of all the plants until they grow.”
The gram panchayat officials have warned villagers that if anyone damages the Haritha Haram plants will be fined Rs 1,000 along with planting 100 saplings.
Recently, in Chilkur's Venkata Devulapalli village the gram panchayat fined a woman Rs 500 after her goat ate a Haritha Haram sapling.
