Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh goes to Masjid to deliver food amid lockdown

Hyderabad: Amid COVID-19 lockdown across the country, BJP Floor leader and Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh is doing what he can to help citizens in need. In what may seem as a surprise to many, the BJP MLA was seen helping people at a masjid in Old City as he offered them with food packets. He also assured them that they need not worry further.

The Goshamahal MLA was seen speaking to people in the Masjid, asking them whether they are taking preventive measures. He said, " Let me know if there are people in other Masjids as well. If you give me the number of people present, I will deliver the required amount of food to them. Let me know if at all there is any problem. You can also hand me over a list of people who need food with their contact number. I will deliver the food at their doorsteps."

He also assured the people stranded in Masjids to not worry about food as he will be there to serve them. Raja Singh had earlier offered help to 400 migrant labourers from Uttar Pradesh in his Goshamahal constituency. He also distributed rice and Rs 500 to migrant labourers in his constituency.

He also took to Twitter to share the video of distributing food as he wrote, " Main ek Hindu Hun aur main Hindu hone ke naatey maanav jaati ki Seva karna mujhe mere purvajo ne sikhaya hai. Wahi kaam main aaj Kar raha hun."

As the nation tackles the Coronavirus outbreak with social distancing and a 21-day nation-wide lockdown, people who are not able to afford food and shelter are being taken care by fellow citizens as they lend a hand of help to the ones required.

The help however, has come in different forms like contributing to the PM Cares Fund and the Chief Minister's Relief Fund in each and every state. Even politicians have come together to donate their salaries of a month and donate other essentials such as groceries. Biggies like Ratan Tata, Mukesh Ambani, Anand Mahindra have also donated huge amounts.
