Great Dane ‘Trumph’ goes missing in Rajendranagar, complaint filed

Hyderabad: The case of a missing dog from Rajendranagar has been doing the rounds on social media. The dog, Trumph, which belongs to the Great Dane breed, has been missing since June 19, but to this day, the owner has not received any leads as to where he is. That a dog of such stature could go missing is surprising, says the owner of the Great Dane.

The owner of the dog, Syed Abdul Moghni, says that he was not in the town when the dog ‘disappeared’. “I stay in Lakdikapul but since I was going out of town for a few days, I had asked a friend to look after him. My friend stays in Rajendranagar and he took care of Trumph and two other dogs of mine,” he said.

The owner further said that he has a reason to believe that the dog was stolen but was not missing. “My friend’s sister has said that she actually saw someone moving out of the gate that night with the dog but she had assumed that it was someone from the house. It was only the next day morning that they realised the dog was missing,” added Syed Abdul.

The three-year-old Great Dane was let loose with two other dogs in the compound of the house. “He is a very shy dog who doesn’t usually mingle with people. He is wary of strangers and is quite protective. To me, it seems like it was someone who knew him took him away,” says Abdul.

Abdul filed a complaint at Rajendranagar police station but has not received any update from the authorities yet. “We miss him and hope some leads come up soon,” he said.
