Guntur District Coordinator of Hospital Services and his clerk in ACB net for accepting bribe

Guntur: The officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested Ch Prasana Kumar working as District Coordinator of Hospital Services in Guntur for demanding a bribe. The officers arrested Prasana alongside his clerk U Gopi Krishna for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from T Srinivasa Rao for doing official favour.
The ACB officials said that they received a complaint from Srinivasa Rao, a Diet Supply contractor at District Hospital, Tennali in Guntur. Rao alleged that Prasana Kumar was demanding Rs 100,000 bribe to sanction diet bills worth Rs 20 lakh for 11 months (from June 2018 to April 2019). Rao had supplied the diet to in-patients and doctors in the District Hospital, Tennali during the period.
After verifying the facts, ACB officials laid a trap at Guntur, where Gopi Krishna received the bribe amount and handed it over to Prasana Kumar at the latter’s office in Guntur on Wednesday.
The ACB officials caught them and recovered the amount. During the phenolphthalein test, both accused tested positive. The investigators registered a case under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act. The two were arrested and produced before Vijayawada ACB court.
