Vijayawada: Based on the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by the Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy (RK), the Andhra Pradesh High Court has issued a notice to the Government and Guntur District Collector to enquire into the construction of TDP central office on government land.

Mr Ramakrishna Reddy had earlier filed a PIL in the High Court against the allotment of 3.6 acres of Vagu Poramboku land for the construction of the TDP party central office as the allocated land was illegal.

He appealed to the High Court to order the cancellation of G.O. No 228 that was issued on June 22, 2017.

Subsequently, Principal Secretary (Revenue), Principal Secretary (Irrigation and CAD department), Secretary (AP Land Management Authority), Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA), Commissioner, AP Capital Regional Development Authority (APCRDA), Engineer In Chief (Irrigation) and District Collector, Guntur were all served notices.

The Mangalagiri MLA’s PIL has astonished the bureaucratic circles, as the respondents, in this case, are all new to this subject. The officers in the earlier TDP Government have issued G.O.s and given permission to the TDP office, and now they are approaching the office of the Advocate General on as to how to go about the PIL.
