Highway robbers loot 2400 Redmi smartphones from truck in Medak district

Hyderabad: Unidentified robbers looted more than 2,400 Redmi smartphones from a parked container on the Hyderabad Nagpur National Highway in the Medak district of Telangana.

The incident occurred around a week ago when the container truck was parked near a Dhaba on the highway. However, the representative of the mobile phone company lodged a police complaint on Tuesday.

Police said mobile phones were loaded on the truck at the Sriperumbudur manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. It was on way to Delhi via Telangana.

After having food at the Dhaba, the driver took a rest for a while. When the container was checked by the company authorities at the transit center, they found mobile phones missing.

A case of theft has been registered against unidentified persons. Special teams have also been formed to nab the suspects. Police said they are exploring all angles and enquiring from old history sheeters to crack the case.
