Himachal Pradesh: Telangana man survived with injuries in a landslide where 7 Killed

Himachal Pradesh : Raghav, 22, a Telangana tourist in Himachal Pradesh’s Manikaran Saheb in Kullu, survived with injuries after he was hit by a shooting rock in a landslide. He was admitted in a hospital. Educational institution have been ordered to close in Kullu.

A massive landslide in Manikaran Saheb in Kullu killed seven people and injured several.

Office of the district Magistrate Kullu in an official statement said, “ Heavy rain and incident of landslides in the region and the common folk particularly schools/colleges/institutes going students are facing a lot of p[roblems due to the inclement weather. Therefore, keeping in view the safety/security of the students” Dr. Richa versa, IAS, District Magistrate Kullu ordered to closure of all private and government educational institute in the district on August 19.

Kuala deputy commissioner of police Yunus Khan said, “we are trying to evacuate and rehabilitate people. I request people not to go to high reach areas and near rivers.”

Intensity of the landslide has even created an artificial lake in Chakki khad.

Central Water Commission Official Flood Forecast tweets, “Due to landslide artificial lake formation in #HP state on #Chakki khad. Lake formation on #Jabbar khad a tributary of #Chakki khad (tributory of #Bea river). (sic)”

Former AICC president and Wayand MP Rahul Gandhi tweeted about land slides in Manikaran, “Extremely sad to hear about the landslide in Manikaran in which many people lost their lives. My prayers for the families who lost loved ones. (sic)”
