Home Minister Amit Shah pays tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel 

Hyderabad: Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for integrating the then 630 princely states into India, including Hyderabad. However, Jammu and Kashmir were missed out.

He was speaking at the 70th Dikshant Parade (passing out ) at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad. Recalling the former Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Shah said, "Vallabhai Patel Ji integrated 630 odd independent states with India, post Independence, however, Jammu and Kashmir was left out. But under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the abrogation of Article 370 and its stem 35( A) was completed and J & K has been fully integrated with India."

Rewinding History, Shah pointed out that The Nizam of Hyderabad state did not agree to accede with India. However, Former HM Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel faced challenges and succeeded in making Hyderabad state an integral part of India with the history of Police action . (While this claim is still under debate.)

"Under his (referring to Former HM) leadership, police action was initiated in Hyderabad, other parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharastra. The credit of Integrating all the then 630 princely states to India goes to Patel Ji", the Home Minister added.

A special mention, congratulating the 15 women IPS probationers out of the total 103 was mentioned many times in his address. "I enquired about the background of the passing out probationers, many hail from a simple and poor background, your achievement will inspire the rest to follow. Your(probationers) duty begins, strike to make India corruption-free. We (politicians) have only 5 years to serve however you (police) have 30 years into service."

Meanwhile, the star of the Passing out Parade was Probationer Gaush Alam, Domicile – Delhi and has been allocated to the Telangana cadre. Earlier a corporate employee, the officer has been awarded the best all-rounder, IPS Probationer. Second in the consolation of stars was the mother of a 2-year-old and a farmer’s daughter Ms Richa Tomar, having roots in Uttar Pradesh, the lady probationer has been allocated Rajasthan Cadre. She passed out with the Trophy for best all-round lady IPS probationer.
