Homeopathic doc jailed for sexually harassing Hyderabad student

Hyderabad: A local court has sentenced a 53-year-old Homeopathic doctor to six months imprisonment for sexually harassing 26-year-old student at Kushaiguda in Hyderabad.

Identified as K Nagabushanam, he had allegedly sexually harassed a medico at Kushaiguda in 2017.

After three years of trial, XIX additional Metropolitan Judge B Sowjanya convicted Nagabushanam and sentenced him to six months imprisonment. Besides, the court has slapped a fine of Rs 6,000 on him.

Nagabushanam was working for Thatha Hospital at ECIL when the incident occurred. The victim was studying medicine at Davis College of Homeopathy at Keesara.

The case dates back to February 2017, when he joined the hospital as a house surgeon. On the night of March 7, when the victim was in the ICU, he allegedly sexually harassed her.

She, however, managed to escape and informed her husband. Later her husband lodged a complaint. Police immediately swung into action and arrested Nagabushanam.
