Hyderabad: The Hyderabad traffic police, along with the Cyberabad traffic police, facilitated the transport of live organs by providing non-stop movement to an ambulance on 24 August.

The two departments helped arrange a Green Channel to transport the organs - two kidneys and a liver - from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad to KIMS Hospital, Begumpet. The organs came from Kolkata.

The 36.8 km between the airport and KIMS Hospital was covered in 30 minutes. The medical team carrying the live organs left the airport at 6.39 a.m. and reached KIMS at 7.09 a.m.

KIMS applauded the efforts of the Hyderabad and the Cyberabad traffic police and said it would help save precious lives. In 2020, the Hyderabad traffic police have facilitated the transportation of live organ five times.
