Husband sentenced to Prison for harassing wife

A man who was accused of harassing his wife, suspecting her fidelity, was sentenced to two years in prison. A city court convicted G Narsaiah in connection with a case registered against him two years ago.

Narsaiah and Vijaya Bhanu fell in love and got married around 15 years ago. The couple along with their two children were residing at Kushaiguda in the city.

In 2013, Narsaiah got addicted to alcohol and began harassing his wife physically and mentally. He even started suspecting that she was having an affair with some other man. As a result, the harassment she received doubled.

Unable to bear this continuous harassment, she approached the police and a case was registered in August 2017.

A city court conducted a trial in the case and pronounced the final verdict, sentencing him to undergo imprisonment for two years and also imposed a fine of Rs 4,000 on him.
