Huzurnagar by-election political advantage for us: BJP

Hyderabad: The saffron party is making all efforts to bag the Huzurnagar Assembly seat in the by-election, as part of their plan to win Telangana and Karnataka in South India. The by-election is scheduled on October 21, 2019. BJP considers Huzurnagar by-election as a significant event, said K Krishna Sagar Rao, BJP Chief Spokesperson.

“Any small election in a democracy would be a festival for us. We consider Huzurnagar by-election as an important political advantage to the BJP. We request the voters to give us a second voice to bring the problems to the notice of Telangana Assembly. TRS and Congress didn’t develop Huzurnagar. How can these parties campaign in the Assembly,” added Rao.

The Huzurnagar by-election was prestigious to TRS and Congress party. However, BJP considers it’s an opportunity to serve the people, he said. “Fearing defeat in the forthcoming election, TRS is saying that the main competition is between two parties. However, it would be a competition between three parties. BJP is moving towards victory,” Rao remarked.

The BJP spokesperson noted that by resigning from the Huzurnagar seat, Uttam Kumar Reddy dishonoured public support. “Reddy won for the third time in the constituency but retained Nalgonda. This is nothing but insulting Huzurnagar voters. I ask Uttam Kumar Reddy, as to why Huzurnagar people should vote for your wife? I am sure that Huzurnagar residents will reject the family ruling of Uttam Kumar Reddy,” said Rao.

BJP is confident of winning Huzurnagar as it hopes that people are looking towards the saffron party for a change. Dr Kota Rama Rao is contesting on BJP ticket in Huzurnagar by-election.

“TRS and Congress have fielded OC candidates whereas BJP chose a BC candidate in the Huzurnagar by-election. People believe that social justice is only possible with BJP. TRS claims that it belongs to the Telangana movement. Why didn’t TRS give the ticket to Telangana martyr Srikantha Chary’s mother this time? I request Huzurnagar people to give one chance to BJP. We’ll develop the constituency with funds from the Centre,” maintained Rao.

Criticising the communist parties, Rao said that leaders from CPI are joining the pink party as the left is weakening by the day. BJP won only one seat in the Telangana Assembly elections held on December 2018 as against the five seats in 2014 elections.
