Hyd traffic police facilitate transportation of live organ

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic police, on 23 October, facilitated the transport of a live organ, a heart, by providing non-stop movement to the ambulance carrying the organ. The traffic police arranged a green channel for transportation of the live organ from Gleneagles Global Hospital, Lakdikapul, to KIMS Hospital in Begumpet.



The distance between Gleneagles Global Hospital to KIMS Hospital is 5.6 km and it was covered in less than five minutes. The medical team carrying the live organ left Gleneagles Global Hospital at 10.46 a.m.

On 20 October, the Hyderabad traffic police had provided a green channel for the transportation of live donor organs (lungs) from Medicover Hospital in Madhapur to KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad. The 15-km stretch was covered in 15 minutes.

This year, the Hyderabad traffic police have facilitated organ transport 12 times.
