Hyderabadi held for posting abusive comments against women IPS

Hyderabad: A 45-year-old man working for a private insurance company in the city was arrested for posting abusive comments on Facebook against two female IPS officials working in Telangana. Batti Suraj Kumar had used abusive and obscene language in his posts against the officials.

Suraj, a resident of Ramnagar in the city, had posted the comments on Wednesday night. Screenshots of the posts went viral on social media. He wrote, “Telangana DGP, Hyderabad police commissioner, along with women IPS officers, and many more police criminals are involved in the suppression, dilution, manipulation, and complication of a petition which is before the Telangana High court.” He added that the officials want him to keep quiet on the same issue.

Based on a complaint, Cybercrime wing of Hyderabad charged Suraj with criminal intimidation, insulting women, and obstructing public servants from carrying out their duties. Inquiries revealed that he has been suffering from mental health issues for a very long time.

He told police that he was upset with a much bigger problem, but did not reveal what the problem was. He was arrested and sent to remand on Thursday evening.
