Hyderabad police orders inquiry into ‘Desh ke gaddaron ko goli maro sa*** ko’ slogan

Telangana : Hyderabad police have ordered an inquiry into ‘Desh ke gaddaron ko goli maro sa*** ko’ (shoot the traitors) slogans raised during a pro-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) rally held in the city on February 2nd

The issue came into light when a local youtube channel aired a video in which a group of participants who were carrying out a rally to the venue were found shouting Desh ke gaddaron ko goli maro sa*** ko’. Many eye-witnessed recorded the moment and brought it to the notice of the Hyderabad police.

On February 2nd (Sunday) The pro-CAA meeting, organised by Akhand Bharath Sangharsh Samithi, Bhagyanagar was held at Qutub Shahi grounds. Earlier, it was announced that the meeting would be held at Charminar, for which permission was denied.

The programme that was held in support of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Registry of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) saw a few thousand in participation, besides BJP Telangana chief K. Laxman and other party leaders.

A recording of the meeting showed that one of the speakers towards the end of the program shouted ‘ Shoot the traitors’. The slogans were raised in the presence of the leaders.

Taking cognizance of the same, the Hyderabad police has sought an inquiry. “ Legal opinion has been sought; the recording has been collected and sent it for legal examination. Based on the report, action will be initiated, said an officer with Hyderabad police.

Not to long ago, Anurag Thakur, Union Minister for Finance while addressing a rally in Delhi raised a storm by shouting the same slogan. The video of him addressing the crowd has gone viral and under the scrutiny of the Election Commission of India.

What followed this was firing at Jamia area in New Delhi. A young lad opened fire at a Jamia student during an anti-CAA protest. The bullet scraped through the student’s hand, however, left him bleeding. The Delhi police are interrogating the matter.
