Hyderabad Rains: 52YO man dies of electrocution in Chaderghat

Hyderabad: Even before Hyderabad could recover from the mayhem, heavy rains lashed the twin city on October 17. The sudden rains led to the death of a man after he was electrocuted near Pochamma Temple, near Yashoda Hospital in Chaderghat Police Station limit.

D Thammaiah, 52, a coolie was walking back from his workplace, when he accidentally touched an electric pole on the footpath, resulting in his death. He hails from Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh.

“We received a call from the passersby about a person getting electrocuted. Till the time we took him to the hospital, he was already dead. We called his son and handed over the body to the family,” said Chaderaghat Police.

Meanwhile, the IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall for Hyderabad and surrounding districts on 18th October.

In view of the forecast, the State government has issued an alert to disaster management teams of GHMC. Manpower has been deployed across the city to clear the waterlogging.

The Cyberabad Traffic police has open Durgam Cheruvu bridge for two days for commuters following the rains.
