Hyderabad Rains: 6YO girl dies after wall collapsed in RK Pet

Hyderabad: Following incessant rain, a 6-year-old girl died after a wall collapsed in RK Pet area under Mangalhat Police Station limit on October 17 night.

Adiba Begum, along with her mother and three siblings were sleeping in the house. According to the police around 11 pm, the wall collapsed.

“Hearing the sound, the mother called the neighbours. The girl's father is working as a driver was not at home when the incident occurred. With the help of the neighbours we rescued the body of the girl,” said SHO, G Ranaveer Reddy, Mangalhat Police Station.



The police shifted the girl's body to Omania Mortuary for the postmortem.

Deputy mayor of GHMC, Baba Fasiuddin visited the Mangalhat area and reviewed the rescue operation.

Heavy rains lashed parts of the twin cities bringing Hyderabad to a gridlock once again in the same week. The sudden downpour resulted in the death of a 52-year-old man in Old Malakpet limits.

The sudden rains led to the death of a man after he was electrocuted near Pochamma Temple, near Yashoda Hospital in Chaderghat Police Station limit.

D Thammaiah, 52, a coolie was walking back from his workplace, when he accidentally touched an electric pole on the footpath, resulting in his death. He hails from Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh.

“We received a call from the passersby about a person getting electrocuted. Till the time we took him to the hospital, he was already dead. We called his son and handed over the body to the family,” said Chaderaghat Police.
