Hyderabad Rains: Massive hole in Falaknuma railway bridge, cops divert traffic

Hyderabad: Heavy rains lashed parts of the twin cities bringing Hyderabad to a gridlock once again in the same week. The sudden downpour resulted in the death of a 52-year-old man in Old Malakpet limits and damaged a part of the Falaknuma railway bridge.



According to officials, a 6 feet hole was found on the bridge resulting in the Hyderabad Traffic police shutting down the en-route. 'There has been a hole in the bridge. As per my information till now, no one has fallen in it nor has the bridge collapsed' Senior officer and director of Enforcement and Vigilance-GHMC Vishwajit Kampati told NewsMeter.



Meanwhile, Bandlaguda, Uppal, Shaikpet, Saroornagar, Singapore Township received the maximum rainfall under Greater Hyderabad limits. Heavy rains to continue in central and southern parts of Telangana in the next few hours, the IMD said.

The rains also led to a minor accident on the Outer Ring Road, The Cyberabad Traffic police have cautioned commuters on over speeding and dangerous driving.



In a fresh forecast, the IMD has announced moderate to heavy rainfall for 18th October ( Sunday)
