Hyderabad rains: Puranapool Bridge develops cracks, traffic diverted

Hyderabad: City traffic police on Monday closed Puranapool Bridge for traffic after one of its pillars developed cracks.

The traffic has been diverted towards Jumerath Bazar for the vehicles coming from Karwan and Ziaguda.

“Commuters kindly note, due to cracks on Pillar of Puranapool Bridge, it has been closed. Traffic coming from Karwan and Ziaguda towards Zihmarathbazar has been diverted,” tweeted traffic police.

Due to incessant rain, the traffic has been closed or diverted. On October 17, rains created a massive crater on Falaknuma Railway Bridge resulting in the traffic diversion.

Likewise, a brace fell from the top of the newly built Raidurgam flyover due to heavy rains.

Due to heavy rain, the NH-44 at Gaganpahad got damaged. The traffic police advised the commuters heading towards Shamshabad, Kurnool, and Bangalore from Hyderabad city to use Outer Ring Road instead of NH 44.
