Hyderabad techie killed as bike hits SUV parked on flyover

Hyderabad: A 26-year-old software professional died after his two-wheeler rammed into a vehicle that had been parked on a flyover in Hyderabad on Friday night. Manne Sumanth Varma hailed from Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, the police said.

Sumanth, who lived at Nizampet of KPHB, had been working with OMICS International at Gachibowli for more than a year. The police said the accident occurred when he was going in the direction of his office for some personal work.

The police said the driver of an SUV had carelessly parked the vehicle on a flyover near Sujana Forum mall at KPHB without putting up any warning sign or switching on the parking light. Sumanth could not spot the stationary vehicle until he was dangerously close to it.

The techie crashed into the SUV and fell off his bike. He sustained multiple injuries. While passersby took him to a nearby hospital, he was declared brought dead.

The KPHB police have registered a case against the SUV driver and seized the vehicle. Further investigation is underway.
