Hyderabad UFERWAS meet minister Eatala, offer services to fight COVID

Hyderabad: A team of United Federation of Resident Welfare Associations (UFERWAS) called on Health Minister Eatala Rajender and offered their services to fight COVID 19 in the twin cities.

Senior TRS functionary Marri Rajshekar Reddy facilitated the meeting.

UFERWAS requested the Health Minister to involve Resident Welfare Associations in sharing information about the location and functioning of Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in various areas of the twin cities. Further, they requested for community testing facilities in respective areas monitored by PHCs and CCMB.

UFERWAS also requested for sharing information about COVID positive cases so that they can monitor home isolation and mild cases. They also sought information about facilities available in government hospitals.

The minister appreciated the efforts of UFERWAS and assured that he would call a coordination meeting with concerned Health officials to work out the modalities of community engagement.

Marri Rajshekar Reddy explained to the Minister that representatives of RWAs could complement the efforts of the government. He welcomed the suggestion to involve RWAs in a coordinated manner.

UFERWAS also offered its voluntary services for managing call centers, performing administration duties, and counseling.
