Hyderabad: In a heart-wrenching incident, a six-year-old boy was killed after a tipper lorry ran over him near Mallampet in Bachupally on Friday morning.
The victim, Abhimanshu Reddy, was a first-grade student at Gitanjali International School. Originally from Nizamabad district, he lived with his family in Mallampet.
Accident during school commute
According to police, Abhimanshu was on his way to school with his mother on a scooter, as part of their daily routine. When they reached Pallavi School Junction, a tipper lorry allegedly hit their two-wheeler from behind.
The impact threw both mother and child onto the road, and tragically, the lorry ran over the boy.
Death on the spot
Abhimanshu died on the spot due to severe injuries. Police arrived at the scene soon after the accident and shifted his body to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem formalities.
Case registered
A case has been registered against the tipper driver, and further investigation is underway to determine negligence and exact cause of the accident.

The tragic death has plunged the Mallampet locality into grief, with the school community expressing deep sorrow over the loss of their young student.
