Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, an engineering student was crushed to death when she fell under the wheels of a moving train at Lingampally railway station on Monday morning. The victim, Pushpitha Sneha (20), was trying to board a moving train when she fell under in front of her family.
A resident of Nallagandla, she studies in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. She was visiting her home for Dussehra vacation and was returning to her classes. She had planned to take the Vijayawada-bound Intercity Superfast Express starting from Lingampally at 4.40 am.
When she reached the station alongside her parents and younger brother, the train had already started. Intending to catch the train, she tried to board while the train was in motion. However, she lost balance and fell in the gap between the platform and the train.

As the train was moving, she was dragged for about 30 metres, until the train came to a halt. She sustained severe injuries and died on the spot, as her parents and brother looked on. Railway police registered a case and started a probe into the incident.
