Hyderabad: Director Shankar’s Indian 2 is one of the most anticipated films this year. It is a sequel to the decade-old blockbuster of the same name. The sequel is bankrolled by Lyca Productions on a massive budget. The team is currently on a break for a couple of months and, according to latest reports, they are to resume shoot in the first or second week of February.

Reportedly, the director will shoot some important sequences in this schedule, which is expected to go on for about two to three weeks. Also, the upcoming schedule is quite big as it will feature most of the star cast for the first time, including Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh and Siddharth.

The film’s shooting in Gwalior and Chennai began in the middle of last year. A few months ago, director Shankar took to Twitter to share a photo of Kamal Haasan in khaki uniform.

The team had to take a break as Kamal Haasan has to undergo a surgery to remove the implant that was placed in his leg in 2016. Four years ago, the Vishwaroopam actor was injured when the roof of his house caved in. He is now recuperating from the surgery and has recently started attending events. He also shaved off his beard and flaunting his Indian 2 look.

While Kamal Haasan is essaying the role of a nonagenarian, his partner Kajal Aggarwal will be an octogenarian. The makers are planning to wrap up the project by the year-end and release it early next year.
