Indigo airline servers down; flights delayed, cancelled

Hyderabad: Thousands of Indigo passengers were stranded at various airports on Monday morning due to the glitch in the Indigo servers. The airlines announced that their servers across all networks were down. They issued a travel advisory saying, “We are expecting the counters to be crowded more than usual. Please bear with us as we try to solve the issue asap.”

Flights were delayed, and some cancelled. Most of the airports had become crowded due to the server issue.

Indigo managed by Interglobe Aviation has not provided any further details on the issue. It is the largest carrier in India with around 50% domestic market share.

Monday is the beginning of a working day passengers were upset with the flight delays and cancellations. People took to Twitter to vent their anger and the problems they faced due to the server issue.

Indigo said, its team is working on the server slow down and are trying to rectify the problem as soon as possible. Reports further state that the decline in visibility due to Delhi’s air pollution will add to the flight delays.

A similar server issue took place in July this year at the Bangalore airport. Indigo staff were forced to make manual bookings. The server glitch affected around 63 flights the half-an-hour.
