INS Dega conducts mock anti-hijack exercise at Vizag airport

Visakhapatnam: A mock anti-hijack exercise was conducted by INS Dega at Vizag airport on 13 February. The exercise involved various agencies, including Marine Commandos (MARCOS), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Airport Authority of India (AAI), and state government agencies.

The objective of the exercise was to test the efficacy of the contingency plans and procedures of all stakeholders to deal with hijack threats. The anti-hijack exercise created a mock situation using a naval Dornier aircraft to initiate coordinated actions by all stakeholders. A debrief was conducted on the completion of the exercise and standard operating procedures were revalidated to effectively deal with future contingencies.
