Inter-state burglar couple arrested at Ibrahimpatnam

Hyderabad: Rachakonda police, on Tuesday morning, apprehended an inter-state burglar, along with his wife, from Khanapur gate at Ibrahimpatnam. He is accused in 17 inter-state burglary cases.

Katti Ravi Kumar, 25, a resident of Kondapur and a native of Narsraopeta, Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh had committed the offences in the last one year in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Police said that Katti Ravi Kumar started committing offences at a very young age. He was previously arrested in Narsraopeta, Piduguralla,

Singarayakonda, Nekarikallu of Andhra Pradesh

The police said that the offender used to steal bikes, move in isolated colonies with his wife and do reccee. He used to move along with his wife to avoid suspicion and checking by the police. In the night, the couple used to park their vehicle at the house they had identified during recce in the morning and then break open the main door with the help of an iron rod and commit the robbery.

In 2019, he was arrested by Nekarikallu police in Guntur district and released from Ongole jail in September. After being released from

the jail, he, along with his wife, went to Anantapur district to keep his identity concealed and started doing tea business by opening a kiosk. However, he was not satisfied with his earnings and so resumed committing property offences in surrounding villages of Kurnool and Anantapur districts.

“With the local police keeping surveillance on his activities, he moved to Kondamallepally in Nalgonda district, Telangana. He and his wife

committed several offences in Rachakonda Commissionerate limits. Then they decided to settle in life and purchased 100 square yard plot at Kondamallepally village and started constructing a house,” the police added.
