Hyderabad: When a Rajinikanth starrer releases, no other filmmakers dare to release their film anywhere around the date. Many actors in the industry are also his fans, and so, they don’t want to clash with their favourite star at the box office. Such is the craze fans have for the veteran actor.

Thalaivar’s Darbar, directed by AR Murugadoss, is releasing on January 9 and it is official now. This film has Nayanthara as the leading lady and Nivetha Thomas as Rajinikanth’s daughter. The actor will play a cop in this film, which is produced by Lyca Productions.

Well, it looks like an actor from Tamil industry has shown courage to release his film within a week after the release of Darbar. It is none other than Dhanush, Rajinikanth’s son in law, who plans to release his upcoming movie Pattas on January 15. Dhanush has decided to take this step since it will be a long weekend, and both films will have a strong run at the box office.

RS Durai Senthilkumar, who has previously helmed films like Ethir Neechal, Kaki Sattai and Kodi, directs Pattas. Actress Sneha and Mehreen Pirzada will play critical roles in the film, produced by Sathya Jyothi Films.

An official confirmation from the makers is awaited regarding the final release dates. Well, whatever it may be, it is sure that both Tamil and Telugu audiences are going to have a fantastic Pongal the coming year.
