Italy returned APs first Coronavirus patient is recovering

Nellore: Andhra Pradesh on Thursday reported its first confirmed case of the new Coronavirus in Nellore. A youth who had returned from Italy was admitted to Government General Hospital (GGH) with symptoms of cold, cough and sore throat.

The patient is stable and will be discharged after 14 days. Five Italy returned people have been put in home quarantine as a precautionary measure.

Two other Italy returned patients have already been isolated in the Government General Hospital (GGH) hospital three days ago.

District the administration has engaged volunteers to check on the households to confirm whether all those people, who returned from foreign countries have been screened.

On Wednesday night, Chief Secretary Neelam Sahani held a meeting with District Administration to discuss the measures for tackling the coronavirus threat.

Dr Swarnalatha, Nodal Officer for coronavirus, said that after collecting details of five persons they decided to quarantine them at their residences in the district.
