Jagans welfare schemes benefited 3.5 crore people, Rs. 40,000 crore disbursed in one year

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy, on 25 May, said that between June 2019 and May 2020, the YSRCP-led government has disbursed Rs. 40,139 crore to 3.5 crore beneficiaries in the state through various welfare schemes.

He said Rs. 19,298 crore was disbursed to people of the Backward Classes (BC), while Rs. 6,332 crore was distributed among 61.2 lakh beneficiaries from the Scheduled Castes (SC). In addition to this, Rs. 2,108 crore was given to 18.3 lakh beneficiaries from the Scheduled Tribes (ST). The state government has also disbursed Rs. 10,472 crore to 77 lakh beneficiaries who belong to other categories, Jagan added.

Further, the Andhra Chief Minister said, “Within four months after coming to power, we created four lakh jobs in village and ward secretariats. No government has created so many jobs in such a short span of time. It was a matter of pride that over 82 per cent of jobs were secured by SCs, STs, BCs, and minorities.” Providing details on the amount disbursed to citizens through welfare schemes, the Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy said the government places great importance on welfare.
