Jayesh Ranjan, Jitender Reddy out of race for Telangana Olympic Association President

Hyderabad : In what has come as an embarrassment to top bureaucrat and blue-eyed boy, Jayesh Ranjan and former TRS MP AP Jitender Reddy, the Telangana Olympic Association has rejected their nomination for presidentship.

Elections for the post of Telangana Olympic Association were scheduled on February 9th. Three contenders, namely Principal Secretary IT Jayesh Ranjan, backed by those holding power , EX-MP and BJP leader AP Jitender Reddy and professor K. Ranga Rao- former president of OAT, were in the fray.

But even before the bureaucrat and politician duel would roll up their sleeves for a showdown, their applications were put aside for various reasons. 'IAS officer Jayesh Ranjan had sought the state government's permission to contest for the post and not central government , which has backfired him. While former parliamentarian from Mahbub nagar AP Jitender Reddy dug his own grave, the latter proposed the name of Professor Ranga Rao as president besides filing his own nomination' a source told NewsMeter .

What has shocked many in the sports fraternity that despite tall claims of Jayesh Ranjan to deliver Hyderabad as the world best sports destination and his connections in the powerful corridor, the nomination was rejected.

While his contender AP Jitender Reddy who claims to hold an association with sports beyond two decades was also rejected.

Left in the fray is Professor K Ranga Rao and it goes on to say that the latter is undisputed the president of the non profit organisation.

It is to note that professor was unanimously elected as (OAT) president in the last election, after EX-MP Jitender Reddy stepped down.
