Job seeking youth held for theft in private hostels

Hyderabad: A 28-year-old youth from Adilabad, accused of stealing mobile phones belonging to inmates of private hostels, was arrested at KPHB in the city. Rathod Anil was in the city in search of a job, but as he was unsuccessful, he started committing theft to make some money for his survival, found police officials.

Anil moved to the city after completing his education and was residing in a private hostel at KPHB colony. Though he appeared for several interviews, he couldn't clear them and get a job. As a result, he ended up in a financial crisis. However, he wanted to continue his search and stay in the city, but he lacked the money for it.

Being in a private hostel, he was aware of the lapses and the attitude of the hostel inmates, which he decided to take advantage of and make some easy money.

As per the plan, he stole nine mobile phones from hostels on three occasions. Based on clues from CCTV cameras, police arrested him and recovered 9 mobiles all worth Rs 2 lakh from him, said, police officials.
