Kabir Khan to debut on streaming platform with a web series reportedly about Netaji and INA

Hyderabad: Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s director Kabir Khan is all set to make his debut on the digital streaming platform by creating and helming a new web series. The project, called “The Forgotten Army — Azaadi Ke Liye, is reportedly based on Subhas Chandra Bose and his Indian National Army. Sunny Kaushal and Sharvari will play the lead roles. The web series will release on Amazon Prime Video in 2020.

Reportedly, the web series will convey the cycle of events relating to the men and woman who fought for India’s independence alongside Netaji as part of the Indian National Army. There has been no official confirmation regarding the plot of the series as of yet.

On Tuesday, Kabir Khan posted the first poster of the show on his Instagram account. He said, “Walking into a new medium with a longstanding dream! Super excited to present my passion project, #TheForgottenArmy on @primevideoin @sunsunnykhez @sharvari (sic).”

Kabir Khan is a popular Indian filmmaker, whose works include New York, Ek Tha Tiger, Phantom, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan and the upcoming 83. The latter is about the life of veteran cricketer Kapil Dev, which talks about India’s win at the World Cup in 1983. Ranveer Singh plays Kapil Dev in the film.
