Kamareddy school principal booked for sexually harassing nurse

Hyderabad: Kamareddy district police registered a case against the principal of Telangana State Residential School and Junior College after a 25 year old staff nurse filed a complaint of sexual harassment against him.

The victim belonging to a tribal community alleged that principal B Srinivasulu was passing lewd remarks and demanding sexual favours.

The victim, who is mother of two children, told the media that when she sought leave for daughter’s treatment, the principal offered to take them to Hyderabad in his car. “But he asked me to wait at an isolated location with my face covered. He also warned me not to inform other staff in the school. Later he dropped me at Hayathnagar,” she said.

The victim said when she was pregnant with her second child, he again took her to Hyderabad forcefully. The victim said she sat on the rear seat, but he forced her to sit beside him. She said during the journey he touched her inappropriately.

The victim said the principal threatened to defame her if she did not give into his demands. "He said that he was the Best Principal award winner and nobody can touch him,” she said.

The victim’s husband said that they belong to a very poor family and her job was their only source of living. "She continued to bear the torture even without sharing with me. She was so depressed that she decided to end her life. But we mustered courage and approached the police. The principal has ruined many lives. But due to fear, the victims are not coming out. We demand strict action against him,” he said.

Police said a case has been registered and the investigation is underway.
